Organised Spiders

While crossing the new-ish river bridge
that over-sees the river's rugby stretch,
the starry-starry-night, light enough to be
most amenable for all things al-fresco,
I saw that the safety-rail's props and bolts,
were practically and tactically colonised
by big-big-bellied strapping spiders,
broad-shouldered, stocky, dark and hairy,
prop-forwards with a tunnel vision,
waiting to tackle fly-halves or wholes,
william web-ellises to a man-
(ok. who can sex a spider at first sight?) -
each with a web-site ready to receive
e(ntological)-mail or males, or females
and they not fussy!
"nothing can be snider than a hungry
arachnida in the mo-o-or-ning!"
their disposition, apart from voracious,
suggests a certain new-era professionalism,
grassy-tuffets, a-la-miss-muffet,
being far too random-actish and anarchic,
have been superseded, and impeded by
the weavings and workings of the techno-logical
market,
and so those who surf and strut their wintry-inter-net,
adapting to the new post-modernististic ways
deserve a british lion's share of all the meat they get!
