Welsh Music
In Wales, I was confused'
By fawn, lovat-green,
And thin-lipped reedy tenors,
Sporting or supporting
Inadequate ribcages,
Because chapel bound iron bands,
On their development,
And imagination, and,
Took their breath away.
And I hear the new Welsh groups,
As flannel bands,
In the tradition of
Oxymoronic liberty-bodices.
